How It Works

Adoption Process

There are no fees and no obligation when applying for an adoption. We encourage all that are interested in a possible adoption to complete an application first. By applying first our adoption staff can review your needs and suggest those animals that best suit your family and life style. Whether you choose to view on line first or immediately visit our Adoption Center completing the application early speeds the process once a decision is made. All adoptions come with a trial period to ensure the match is the best for all concerned.

View Online or Visit Our Facility

For online visitors please visit our Adoptable Dogs or Cats pages to see all the pets that are available for adoption. You will be contacted by our Adoption Manager to see which animals you are most interested in and to make an appointment for a meet and greet. In the event an animal is in foster care, the Adoption Manager will make special arrangements for either a meet and greet at the Adoption Center or at the foster provider’s home depending on the foster’s preference. In the case of a multiple dog home some of our dogs for adoption may require a meet and greet with the resident dog(s) which takes place at the Adoption Center.

For on-site visitors we welcome you to stop by our Adoption Center anytime between Noon and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday and Noon and 3:30 pm on Saturdays. Please remember some of our animals are in foster homes so a call to check if you have a particular animal in mind is recommended before visiting.

Please Make Time

The adoption process can take between 30 and 45 minutes, although some time can be saved if the application is completed before arrival. Credit cards and cash are accepted for adoption fees. All adopters must be 18 years or older and show a valid ID.

During the Covid-19 crisis masks are required. Only one family at a time is permitted in the kennel or catteries. You may be asked to wait if a family is ahead of you.
